The beaded surface of this raised Viking Cross has been oxidised to give it an antique, matte appearance. It is then decorated with polished stylized symbols. It is also adorned with a Viking Warrior 18K Gold Bead.
This Viking Cross is inspired by the Vikings who came to Ireland in 795AD and gave Dublin or Dubh-Linn, meaning Black Pool, its name. They were in Ireland until King Brian Boru defeated them in 1014.
The Viking Jewelry collection captures the essence of these Viking warriors and celebrates their creativity. Using silver and pewter they created dress clasps, necklaces, cloak fastenings, brooches, rings and armlets in a variety of shapes and sizes.
We also have smaller Medium Viking Cross and a wide variety of Men’s Celtic Cross necklaces that you may like.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Irish people Celtic or Viking?
The Irish people are primarily Celtic in origin, with the Celts migrating to Ireland around 500 BCE. While the Vikings had some influence during the Viking Age, the core population of Ireland remains Celtic.
What was Dublin originally called?
Dublin was originally called "Dubh Linn" in Irish Gaelic, which translates to "black pool" or "dark pool." This name referred to a dark tidal pool that existed at the confluence of the River Liffey and River Poddle, where the city of Dublin was founded. Over time, the name anglicized to become "Dublin."
