I'm Irish, living in the USA. My niece in Ireland was given it as a gift. I loved it, especially due to living away from home.
I believe it would be a welcome gift for someone who is Irish born. as American friends didn't know what it depicted, then loved it when I explained.
The chain broke immediately as I was putting it on so I transferred it to another chain and didn't want the replacement offered as it was very fine and could break again. Yet it arrived quickly from Ireland in 8-9 days.
I would buy it if it was available in real gold as it means a lot to me, so I recommend it overall.
